For people to be able to connect to your running X²FileShare, your network has to be properly configured. It is very likely that you are either using a firewall to protect yourself, or a router to share your internet connection.

X²FileShare, by default, operates on port 1149. You may change the port in the Options if desired. You will need to allow incoming connections in your firewall for that port, or forward it in your router. For more information on forwarding ports, we recommend portforward.com.
